Comments on the Final Exam.
The exam will be from 8:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday, December 19, in our usual classroom. The exam will include all the material from the course. No books allowed, but you may bring three sheets (both sides) of notes. I will provide the tables. You will need a calculator, but no credit will be given for problems involving calculation if you do not show intermediate results. The exam will be 30%--40% longer than the other tests, but you can use the full 3 hours if necessary. I cannot stand to hear excuses about oversleeping. Use an alarm clock, make sure you don't set it to 6:00 pm instead of am, and have a friend or parent call you to make sure you are up. Allow extra travel time for rush hour traffic.
Extra office hours will be posted here.

As I discussed in class, for the final I am no longer particularly interested in your ability to correctly calculate the test statistic for a given test. However, I am extremely interested in your ability, given a situation (e.g., you've randomized mice to 4 groups and given each group a different drug, and then measured their weights at 8 weeks), to decide on the appropriate test (e.g., ANOVA).
